1. Accepting these terms
Knewness is operated by PeachShift LLC, 5675 Roswell Rd APT 62G, Sandy Springs, GA 30342-1237, USA (“Knewness,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Knewness. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
2. What Knewness is
Knewness is a Christian companion app. You describe what you’re facing, and the app offers short, first-person, Scripture-rooted confessions and prayers for you to speak aloud. It also includes a daily devotional, a Bible reader, a private journal, and a place to share testimonies.
Knewness is a devotional tool. It is not a church, not spiritual direction from a specific pastor, and not a substitute for community, counsel, or professional care.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email and a one-time code. Keep access to your email secure — anyone who can receive your codes can reach your account. You’re responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe someone else has accessed it.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account inside the app. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through an app store — cancel that in your store account settings as described below.
4. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
Some features require a paid subscription, offered as an auto-renewing subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account, depending on where you installed the app.
- Free trial. New subscribers are offered a 7-day free trial. If you don’t cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged. Trial eligibility is determined by the app store, not by us; not everyone is eligible.
- Price and renewal. Knewness is USD $4.99 per month or USD $49.99 per year. Prices vary by country and are always shown in the app before you buy; the price you see at purchase is the price that applies. A subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. You manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not inside Knewness. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are subject to their policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly for purchases made through an app store.
Crisis resources are never behind the paywall. Safety features work whether or not you subscribe, and whether or not a subscription has lapsed.
5. Acceptable use
Please use Knewness in good faith. You agree not to:
- break the law, or use the app to harm, harass, or deceive others;
- submit content in testimonies that is hateful, sexually explicit, harassing, deceptive, infringing, or that exposes someone else’s private information;
- attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or scrape the app or its systems;
- resell or commercially exploit the app or its content without our written permission.
6. Testimonies you share
A testimony you submit is reviewed by a person before it appears, and once approved it is shown publicly to other users. Share only what you’re comfortable making public, and don’t include other people’s private details without their permission. By submitting a testimony, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display it within Knewness. You can ask us to remove your testimony at any time. We may decline to publish, or later remove, anything that breaks these terms.
7. Content and ownership
The Scriptures in Knewness are quoted from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is freely available. The confessions, prayers, devotionals, design, and software are owned by Knewness or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use them within the app for your own devotional use. Speaking these words over your own life, aloud or in writing, is exactly what they’re for — but please don’t republish our library as your own product.
Your journal entries and the words you type remain yours. See the Privacy Policy for how they’re handled.
8. Not medical, mental-health, or crisis care
Knewness is not a medical device, a mental-health service, or an emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide professional counseling, and nothing in it is a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact emergency services or, in the U.S., call or text 988 or text HOME to 741741. The app surfaces these resources, but it cannot and does not monitor you, and it may not detect every situation.
9. Disclaimers
We work hard to make Knewness dependable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise the app will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will always have words that fit what you’re facing — sometimes it will honestly tell you it has nothing that fits, rather than offer something that misses.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Knewness and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Knewness and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these terms or use the app in a way that harms others or our systems. If we do, we’ll act reasonably and, where appropriate, let you know. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us will be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Fulton County, Georgia, and you and we each agree to that court’s jurisdiction.
Nothing here removes mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or another place whose law gives you the right to bring a claim locally, that right stands regardless of this section.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Knewness grows. We’ll post changes here and update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Knewness after a change means you accept the updated terms.
